Holly and Traverse City Michigan

We spent Monday night in Holly, and had dinner with Carol's Aunt Toni and cousin Kandi and her husband David. On Tuesday, we went to Traverse City...what a beautiful area! We are leaving here today to go to the Upper Peninsular...the U P

The Cherry Festival was last weekend, and cherries were everywhere..we ate a quart of them while we drove around. The Sleeping Bear dunes national lake shore is 30 miles away, and we visited after going to Old Mission and touring several wineries.and tasting new wines

We climbed a dune at the dune incline..hard going up but real fun going down.
The dune Steve is standing on is 450 feet high, and you can see Lake Michigan at the bottom..this was very steep incline so we didn't go very far on it

The lighthouse at Old Mission
The covered bridge on the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive that had overlooks of Lake Michigan and the Sleeping Bear Dunes

Squirrels are really dark

Traverse City State Park right on the shore of Lake Michigan
